Remember us? The couple who sail Dales boat the "Mona LiL" We've been following your site since you left Comox but haven't had much luck signing up on this site, still can't upload a photo. We've been so excited for you; cheering for all your good times & empathizing w your engine problems. Love all the reporting. We keep on cheering for you! Thanks for letting us be a part of your adventure. Abundant blessings, Debbie & Carl
Yes, yes! we remember you and thanks for signing in. Not sure what the problem is for adding a picture. I will look right now on the help and try to report on my next post. Others have experienced difficulty as well.
How is Comox??? Pretty wet we hear. Our weather got warmer and warmer of course as we travelled south but please know that we had about 5 minutes of rain for the last few days and a lot of cloud.
Again welcome to our adventure and keep writing comments it is fun for us to know that there are alive folks out there!!!! Lue and Claes and Joey
Carl & I just spent 40 or more minutes perusing your lovely photos & reading all your recent entries. We're all excited & hopeful again. Its wonderful all the new people you're meeting along the way. I can't imagine anything quite so rewarding as enjoying friendship in a safe harbor after a long stretch of sailing. You must be some of the happiest peple alive. If it makes you feel even better about being in the tropics we just got a big dump of snow yesterday, and its allready raining & turning to mush, yeah. Needless to say we are looking forward to an all inclusive for one week in Mexico this Jan. Are you two happy with the way White Shell sails; is the shallow draft a problem at all? Also, Carl wanted to know if all the fish you catch are edible? Tried again to upload a photo to no avail but no worries; at least you know who we are. Many Cheers!!! Bless you guys! Deb & Carl
Captain says "no" we have no problem. Low draft is convenient for entering into places as there are a lot of bars and shoaling in these parts. Lots of the vessels have shallow drafts for example: 4-6 feet. Whiteshell is loving the wind and seems to be as good if not better than most in storms. She is doing us well.
We remember that you were shopping for a vessel and would remind you that even though we love her we would sell her to you. It is a bonus that she is here and all you would have to do is carry on. We will be putting her on the hard for summer and return to Canada and then return in the fall.
Where will you be in January????
The fish have not been over plentiful but then we only fish when we need fish and have eaten all we have caught. The best so far is the Dorado. Joey, loves all of it.
As we travel Panama as in other countries there are many many tourist spots with "things"to buy and bring home to you all. Ahh! the decision are many and can get rather difficult. Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean. We do love to shop at least some of us. LOL The thrill really is in the hunt right ladies? and for us grandmas it is an exercise of love for the "kidz"". As this Abula searches for just the right color or item I think of the child I am shopping for: the joy of remembering the voice, the smile and the bright eyes ........ahhhh so sweet! There are a few authentic crafts here in Panama such as the Embera Baskets made in the Indian Community the Emberá basket is a one-of-kind piece and is the result of many hours of labor as well as an expression of the artist's own individu...
I woke up today with a touch of a sore throat; not sick enough to make a request for light duty but uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to do much. I forced myself out of the bunk. You know how it is-- if you sleep during the day --night comes sleepless! Not wanting to waste the day sniffing and drinking tea .. i do prefer coffee……I attempted to keep myself busy with my chores. My interest quickly waned and I found myself at my desk……I began sorting through the small cupboard that acts as our filing cabinet. Yes, reminding me of the past boat rule: all items must have two purposes which now applies to our land home……here in the Comox Valley. As I thought of past years piled high within these files of book work and accounts for our lives i managed a smile and reached into the back section of the cabinet. I knew there was one file that held no numbers; this plain ivory colored manila folder secured wi...
