CHRISTMAS WEEK IN MEXICO

Our favourite time of year is here again and you know even though there is no snow it is still time to celebrate Our Lords birthday.          Even Santa Claes knows that right??

We are so happy to be here in this beautiful little bay of Los Meurtos--so nice and peaceful.  La Paz was pretty busy and very rambunctious at night as the locals as well as the tourista were celebrating a different festival each week........they have many.  They are a people who love their music so consequently being anchored out in the harbour was a tad loud.  It felt so good the last few nights to sit and enjoy the beauty of the starlit sky and the sound of the fish jumping.............man are they broiling right now.  The fisherman are very happy as they catch them for baite and the birds are filling their gullets too.  Joey is mesmerized by them and sits for hours watching.  He actually does the night watch you know.

Yesterday, I spent the day baking!!!  Yes, I cant believe it the desire to bake has returned to me and it all worked out rather well.  More recipes for the new column for the New Year.  So the Captain is pleased he have butter tarts, short bread, and a fruit loaf to nibble on.  We cooked a nice big fat chicken last night that smelled a lot like a turkey????  It was good to eat good old plain "Canadian" food with salad dressing and all the trimmings. (No beans or rice or salsa--hahahh!)

Today is cleaning day...........inside and out then we will dingy over to the little pub and treat ourselves to a Margarita.   Tomorrow being Christmas Eve is our big day..........in the Swedish tradition so early in the day I will put the beans, and the red cabbage on for the last part of their cooking which should make the boat smell pretty festive.  I will keep you in touch as to what we will do............the most important endeavour will be to attempt to get in touch with some of you...........so lets pray for a good Internet connection.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and stay tuned for more later today-- after I get my chores down.  The Captain runs a tight ship so must get as swabbing the decks.  (Actually he is going to do the outside and I the inside.)

Have a great day and remember...............don't get tangles in the tinsel!

Love ya !!!  Lue and Claes and Joey, the Kat

  1. Merry Christmas Lue and Claes. Can't wait to see what you have been baking. I can almost taste and smell it now. Nothing like baking on a boat. Enjoy your time of peace and solitude ... we are thinking about you both. L&D
