A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
The weekend was fabulous!!! My sweetheart made it home thursday night and we began the weekend early; a fine supper followed by an evening of cuddling and movie watching. Just being together and getting a few chores done on Friday and Saturday the time went by quickly. The weather was fine and we savoured our coffee on the beach deck and took time for a walk in the trail near by. Mostly we just enjoyed the peace of the Bay and each other. (for more of that see the next posting)
She and Jan put together a fantastic BBQ complete with the best burgers on the west coast and all the condiments and some of our friends. The birthday cake was presented by grandson Cole and Annika was my very able assistant in opening the gifts. What more could a grandma want????
It was a great afternoon and I was further blessed with Brad and Yu Hey playing guitars as we attempted to join them in singing some good ol' songs. Oh Janice Joplin you should of heard us!!!! It was great!

The weather hung in for us and we even came away with some sun color. THANK YOU all who I have mentioned and ...Kelsie, Gwen, Scott, Eunice, Denise, Claes and Tanya---your homemade beans were a hit!!!!! Thank you it meant so much that you were there even though you were not feeling so well. Thanks!!!For more details in picture mode check out the photo gallery close to the bottom of the blog page.
Since I have changed the appearance the type is a difficult color so look really hard.
A big part of our life is our faith family at Living Hope, (check out the link on the left side of the page) so before the BBQ we met as we usually do Sunday morning at a local school gym for a time of refreshment and just plain encouragement and relationship........yes, for us that is what it translates into: a time away from the busy schedule of everyday living to remember to love our neighbour as ourselves and our God above all else. The gift is to bring that love into our our everyday living -- right? The music is just a bonus! HAHAH!
Well that is my report on my 65 Birthday. It was not as difficult as I thought it might be. I dont feel much different. I hope that I can begin to act a little differently as I am suppose to be all grown up now???? Well we will see about that--right? Hope you have a great week and know that all the emails, and phone calls were so appreciated and warmed my heart. As I sit and enjoy my flowers and many cards I am so thankful for all of you.
You are the best birthday gift of all!!!! an older Lue
