FIRST MATE UPDATEs THE BLOG

Good morning and a beautiful one it is.  The mornings  dampness and  chill are short lived as around 6:30 am  the sun arises to dry the wheel house up.  Shortly there after with  coffee  perking we are feeling fine.
The Captain climbed the mast yesterday. He is not fond of heights so this was exciting...with my feet on the deck and my heart full of prayers the next step in the radio installation began... ..go to his page for details of that and an update as to his working this week.
He blessed me with a little time of sleeping in this morning and he made the coffee.  That brings up a subject that is constantly on our mind..........finding ......good coffee.  On my trekk with Mary, my Spanish amiga I did find some coffee beans that are proving to be passable.  Cant wait to get to Costa Rica for some of the best coffee ever...........speaking of which....we have made contact with our good  friends Geraldo  and Xina and they are waiting "with open arms" for us.
The Captain hopes that the month of March will see us on the Nicoya Peninsula, which is the first port of entry of that country.  We have the entire mainland of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and then Nicaragua to navigate...............so it is a long way away.  Probably the same distance we have already sailed.  The excitement is growing. Progress is being made at a good pace.

Today we are attacking the dungeo!!!!  You read it correctly.  The portside lazzerette in the wheel house is names that because it is a large area perfect for storage but very difficult to access as it is narrow and deep.  We stow items that are seldom needed at the bottom and make our way up.  That is the area that much of the electric wires  and the water maker mebrane are attached to the walls of this area.  Perfectly safe and dry and away from traffic..............but now we must return the items in totes.  YES!!!!  today is the day that the back deck gets tiedied up--you know its like those projects at home when you are doing renos.  The clean up time.

So..............finish my coffee go get my work clothes on and proceed.

Take care and have a great day.  Please email us if you want to Skype so that we can turn our computer on as we do NOT have it on all day.  We are conserving energy as well as data space.  We look forward to a visit with you and await your notification .....Lova ya!!!  The Captain and Lue
