MY SISTER AND HER FAMILY Yes, 74 years old today and here is a picture of her amazing family.................that is her proudly standing behind her husband Marcel of over 50 years.  What a fantastic blessing!!!!

Red letter discourse by John Fischer Most of you have undoubtedly heard of the Koran burning scheduled by the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida for Saturday, 9/11, under the direction of its pastor, Rev. Terry Jones. There is a lot of concern over this causing a violent backlash from the more militant sects of Islam, as well as a huge setback in attempts to establish some sort of civil dialogue with non-militant aspects of Islam as well.

Here we are at Shawnigan Lake........just a little south of Duncan for those of you who dont know Vancouver Island.   Diane and Ian are proving to be great hosts.  You will know them from the many pictures we have of them as we were all part of the Cruising community down in THE SEA OF CORTEZ!!!! KEEPING YOU INTERESTED  that is the goal of our blog!!!! August 31 is the beginning of the thirty fourth year of our relationship !!!  We officially got married on that date & include in our yearly celebration "our meeting" in February-- seven years prior to that. That is when we first met and fell madly in love!!!  You bet the stars were brilliant and the fire works went off!!! The lights went on in our hearts!!! I will begin my celebration here on the blog with some comparisons of the happy couple:  Claes and Lue.  These  have been noted over the last few years-- did I say 34??

A new movie opened this past week  that tells the story of the cover-up that surrounded the death of Pat Tillman, NFL star turned combat soldier in Afghanistan. Spurred on by the love of his country, the violation of its freedom on 9/11/01, and his sense of duty, Tillman forsook his lucrative NFL career and joined the army. He was subsequently killed in Afghanistan. The movie portrays the truth about his death.
