SAILORS SAFELY RETURN TO EL SALVADOR

Image
The Tica Bus ride from San Jose, Costa Rica to San Salvador City, El Salvador brought us back to the little hotel  Maison de Marie in Colon Bonioto.  We  have just finished a nice hot cup of coffee, not as good as Costa Rican coffee but nonetheless a welcome.........traditional breakie and The Captain is looking for a cabbie to take us around town for the rest of the day to do our chores.  Re provisioning will be easier by cab and the ride home to Bahia del Sol more comfortable then on the chicken bus. The adventure continues and we will refurbish our Internet  CLARIO  account to keep in touch with you all!!!!  Take care and have a great weekend, ours will be special back aboard The White Shell II.   Struck but happy to be back,  Luisa y Claes

THE CALL OF THE SEA

Image
with  the wind in our faces and the sand between our toes the Playa at Punteranas offers us the waves of the Nicoya Peninsula and  beckons us.  The date on the calendar reminds us that our stay in Costa Rica is coming to a gentle close.  Geraldo and Xinia invited us to a fantastic restaurant tonight,  El Rodeo in Allujela, just a few miles from home.  The food was oh so tasty...........carne which is meat....yes, incredible beef cooked to perfect and the service was impeccable.  What a lovely way to say thank you.........they continue to thank us for our time with Gerald in Canada.  It is also Xinia birthday on Wednesday so we had two reasons to celebrate. Good nite!!!!

After fifteen  hours travelling from San Salvador City through El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua we crossed the boarder into Costa Rica to familiar country.  The Tica Bus provided us with reasonable comfort, three meals and ease of entering and exciting four Central American Countries.  It did not take long before we made Friends with our fellow bus riders.  It is amazing even with our limited Spanish how easy it was to begin conversations.  The  little farms- fincas and villages filled with the usual tiendas- stores and centros that include a church and a parque-park --filled the window as  the bus made its way across the countries.  Their is beauty in that view if one looks closely; the spots of color amongst the old and broken, the early blossoms amongst the palms and regional vegetation.  Each region offering its own ...
