The Story of guy and gal!

Arriving in the Gulf of St Miguel on the 29th of December along with five other boats we anchored - after sunset but with the help of those who had arrived earlier all was well.  The night was rolly with quite a swell and adding to that excitement we slept little.

Both very pleased to be away- departed Panama City December 19-13 laughing all the way!  With bells hanging on the interior mast pole, baskets full of fresh fruit and vegies....the freezer bursting with ham and other meats we set out towards familiar ground- The Archipelago de las Perlas- The Pearl Islands mooring at Contadora, in front of the Restaurante Romantica.  On route we caught a lovely Dorado fish which had a mind of its own. LOL Claes had caught three Bonito Mackerals which we do not find to our liking so when the fourth hit struck his line ( which just kinda hangs off the side of the boat........with the hook floating near the surface)    he was excited when he realize this one felt different.  And different it was- a lovely Dorado our most favourite fish.   Getting him in the boat was quickly done and into the tote he went-licking all the way-  with the hook out of his mouth he- the fish was very intent on returning to the sea!...

Incredible change in weather as we have left the harbour of the city of Panama; beautiful blue skies full of sun for our solar panels, calm sea for water making. As we motor to our location for the Christmas Celebration to the beaches of Espiritu Santo , one of our favourite islands of the Archipelago de las Perlas. We have seen whale Sharks --- Google it and see how docile they are-- two of them were so close to the boat we could see their spots.  Then we caught a Dorado that was intent on not staying aboard!   Between the two of us and a tote we managed to slay and conquer making a very tasty supper or two plus left overs for fish tacos. Hmmm. So good! Food , yes we have provisioned at the Farmers Market El Mercado de Abastos before we left and our stores are over flowing.  The challenge is to tote it all aboard, clean--with eyes open wide for bugs stow away in such a manner that it will last long enough to be eaten. LET THE CRUISING SEASON BEGIN!     Our flight to Panama City was great…………so amazing to be able to cover all those miles so quickly.    Thanks to friends Doris and Brian we arrived at the Comox airport in a timely fashion to a surprise send off by sister Annette   and daughter Tanya.    With baggage in tow off we went to find on arrival in Vancouver that our luggage would have to be rechecked in the   big city of LA.    This made for a rather harried switch of aircraft but having done this a few times now we maneuvered the tarmac like we knew what we were doing. LOL.  

To do list, list of parts to arrive, list of paperwork to prepare, list of folks to see........good thing we are organized!   Claes got home tonight and our weekend will be filled with final touches on many of those lists.  The weather has been incredible and is a blessing as we go through the paces of leaving yet one more season.   Wow!   This will be our fifth.   Incredible to say the least.   Must admit I am at peace and beginning to get a tad excited.  I am sure Claes is anxious as he has worked hared all summer.  Now Joey on the other hand is making his transition over to the BIG house with Doris and Brian.  Must be the nice warm fire they have burning over there and the beautiful big windows for the sunshine to fall through.   What a guy.  He will have a very comfortable winter this 2013.
