Scorching Hot Saturday

Phew!  up to 86 degrees today.  Chores have been  light and we are off to find a beach!

Captain reconfigured the instrumentation panel for the new motor today and the mechanic promises to begin early Monday morning with a tentative test sail on Friday finishing up with a bonus "out for dinner" for us!
I have a craving for lobster. Will let you know how that goes for me. HAHAHA!

I spent a good part of the day window shopping in downtown Santa Cruz yesterday.  What a nice and clean city  replesant with hospitality people walking around to assist you and directories on the streets.   Everyone was very friendly and again the merchants rather hungry for sales.  I found the hugest  used book and music store!!!!!!  I entertained myself for over an hour.........did not buy anything but sure had fun.

As I sat at an outdoor table of a little deli I marveled at the coming and going of the people, some dressed in their fall colors and warmer clothes.  My avocado, cilantro pesto, spout sandwich and French Pressed coffee were delicious.  There are a lot of Hispanic folks and many young people all draped with the latest styles, which consists of  a mix of  California surfing and a 2010 Hippy look.  I notice a few street people.............mostly older, playing music and or selling something.  I smiled-they smiled.  Lots of preparation for Holloween everywhere.

Well this will be it for today...........my sweetie is taking me out to Lil Tampico- the best Mexican fare in the Bay we are told.  Of course I will report to you on that.  (Oh, by the way --was talking with Ryan just a few minutes ago and he said they had a practice run last night....but it was a false call.)  That bebe is getting ready...........I just know it.  Keep those prayers coming for a safe delivery and healthy baby and mom.

Stay tuned for pictures right here on the White Shell II  Blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crista and Doug all four boys are on their way to Vagas.......have fun yu  guys!!!!!

  1. Hi guys,
Wow have you ever had some rough seas! Or maybe that's normal seas? It sounds to have been an eye opener to the power of our waters and I find myself realizing that I don't think I could do what you're doing, so I really do take my hat off to you both! I was really sorry to hear about Katie too. I'll show the girls where you've been on the map and I'm really looking fwd to the email updates when you write on the blog(I think that's what will happen now that I'm following, this blog stuff is new to me).
    Do take care,
    Jane,Murray,Jacqueline & Allison
