Image
As I begin to write this it is March 27 th , Saturday 14:00 hours, temperature is about 82 with a nice North West wind blowing behind us as we sail down the Canal de San Jose which is in the southern portion of the Sea of Cortez, (Gulf of California to the Gringos). Our location is: N 24'57.507 W110 41.563. Since we last wrote to you we think we have seen some of the most beautiful areas that Baja has to offer--yet!!!!!

Here is a picture of her I took last time we were there. Leaving behind S/V Ketchia I and Rob and Kim, we sail away in a south east direction from Isla Coronadas towards the southern tip of Isla Carmen. Thankful that we did leave early we spent the next four hours in a rather large swell that was left over from the day before winds. We did have enough SE wind to sail and though that made for a rolling time it was not unbearable but tiring. Both Joey and I concentrated on regaining our sea legs and were glad to arrive at 09:00 to anchor at 25' 59.675'N 111' 06573'W in the Bahia Salinas just around from Punta Perico South. What a beautiful spot! A picture perfect cove with lots of history and very friendly Park attendants we rested with plans to explore the following morning. S/V Intrepid II , with Kelly and Carol aboard, arrived mid day from Puerto Escondido to a reunion of both vessels as we had originally met way back in the fall. It was a treat to spend the day touring the bay and enjoying a few happy hour...
