COME LOOK BACK AT A FEW YEARS WITH US

Image
"If I knew being a Grandfather was so much fun, I would have done that first!"  Grandpa Petri               The last few years has blessed us with a total of eight grandchildren.  Periodically we include them in our blog as they are very special to us both.   The following are not true stories and the names have been changed to personalize them with our own grand kids.  The pictures are legit though!!!  Trusting that you will enjoy:   A grandfather was at the beach with one of his grandsons when the four-year-old  ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand. 'Grandpa, what happened to him?' the grandson asked. 'He died and went to Heaven,' the Gandpa replied. The boy thought a moment and then said, 'Did God throw him back down? Grandma had spent some time teaching one of her grandsons  The Lords' Pr...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010

wow!!!!!  Did the year go by so quickly!  Looking back we certainly have been blessed!!   For Claes and I the year has been very exciting as we began to really pull together all of our hopes and dreams to set sail on the WhiteShell.  Right from the start God certainly instrumented opportunities and opened many, many doors to assure us that this was what we were suppose to do.  Our house sold in four days,  we were both given jobs to top up our travel account after a loss in the economic down turn,  our family and friends continued to encourage us and give us their blessings to sail away!!!  Some of these gifts included temporary housing, dinners, and much prayer. This picture to the right is us and our good buddy and potential fourth mate when she so chooses to visit us---Judy Collins! Brad & Jan Minton from Comox As we got closer to departure day Claes was able to finalize many important projects.   We both quickly settled into li...

Day 1 of our Canadian Visitors Stay

As you can see from the pictures we had a great time once we all caught up with each other.  Their plane was late as there was a terrorist threat in Detroit so you know how that goes............everything slowed down.  They did get here all in one piece and  finally the rendezvous was made. We walked up the dock to scout out the place and enjoyed some lunch at a very small little Mexican cantina.  The owner knew Powell River and especially Bernie and his family very well. ( Bernie is the vegetable guy there...he travelled back and forth between the Okanagan to sell fruit and vegies in the summer.  In the winter he and his lovely family travelled down here.......He was a customer of ours when we had our business.  What a small world we live in!!)  Back to the cantina........this fella was drinking rum when we got there at 11:30 so need I tell you more?  He fell in love with Denise and eventually was jilted so turned and immediately gave Judy flo...

The Threat of Rain???

Yes, the sky was so dark last night and the talk was about a 75% chance of rain . It has passed and the morning has risen with a glorious sunny day.  We are In Puerto Los Cabos Marina just outside of San Jose del Cabos which is just miles from Cabos San lucas.  It is a brand new place that is all man made and just fantastic.  We are refreshed after a good nights sleep.  Some how we were lulled to sleep by the sound of chickens and a few folks sitting in their back yards.  A nice change from the hustle of the bigger cities.  We like it better already.  We arrived early enough that we were  able to ease Joey into harbour life again.  It has been a month and a half since he felt dirt in his paws.  He was very cautious and took most of the afternoon to venture up the dock.  We went to search him out a few times and he was not far.   We went to bed praying he would be smart............and he was.  He returned to the boat ...
