Day 1 of our Canadian Visitors Stay
As you can see from the pictures we had a great time once we all caught up with each other. Their plane was late as there was a terrorist threat in Detroit so you know how that goes............everything slowed down. They did get here all in one piece and finally the rendezvous was made.
We walked up the dock to scout out the place and enjoyed some lunch at a very small little Mexican cantina. The owner knew Powell River and especially Bernie and his family very well. ( Bernie is the vegetable guy there...he travelled back and forth between the Okanagan to sell fruit and vegies in the summer. In the winter he and his lovely family travelled down here.......He was a customer of ours when we had our business. What a small world we live in!!) Back to the cantina........this fella was drinking rum when we got there at 11:30 so need I tell you more? He fell in love with Denise and eventually was jilted so turned and immediately gave Judy flowers. He said he was 62 but my guess was much older than that. What a character.
Off we went to hotel row to spend the rest of the afternoon at the condo that Judy and |Denise have. Lovely folks and lovely setting for sure. David and Pippa arrived just in time as the beer was running low........no one had a chance to go the Mega store............you should see this store. Just huge............as Claes says we just love visiting these lovely "little" Mexican village!!!!!
After a nice swim in the pool we went up the street to a very nice restaurant for supper and of course a few Margaritas. It was so fun to relax and laugh with our buddies agian! We returned home and found our Joey quite happy to see us as we had felt it better to secure the boat and lock things up. He has been great and has adapted well again to coming and going on the dock. He continues to amaze us. He does not go too far but does love to go explore and find some DIRT!!! He's tired today as he was in and out all night.
It is a cloudy day so we pray that the sun comes out soon as this is not what we ordered for our visitors. Perfect for our job this morning---washing the exterior of the boat with fresh water. You have no idea how the salt just cakes onto everything. Well crew..............stay tuned for some more atticts and check out the newly upload photos.
Until later..............this is your host and hostess in San Jose del Cabos, Claes and Lue signing out.
