ME AND THE CAPTAIN AND A CAT NAME JOEY

Image
You know Captain...... I think when I grow up I want to be a cook on a boat!   Yeah, well honey, don't look now but I think you are all grown up and guess what? You are!!!!! Well then, part of the last seven months have been worth it then. Here I thought it was just one big boat trip and now you tell me that at just about 60, ( I am younger than The Captain!)   I'v gotten all grown up? Go figure! I guess I better take a closer look and see what that really means: I could say it means being able to scratch off a few things off my "bucket list" you know the list that you might make if you knew you only had a short time to live. I could say that it means being balanced: physically, mentally, spiritually –the whole enchilada!!!! I could say that it means having knowledge in this world and the wisdom to make it a better place. I could say that it means having friends, including family that love /like me in spite of knowing the real me! I could...

WAITING OUT A “BLOW”

Image
In sailors talk that means we are anchored in Punta Polpito waiting for the current heavy winds to blow themselves out! That probably is confusing for you as you have been hearing us praying and talking about wanting wind so we can sail. Grab a cuppa and one of these nice warm peanut butter cookies that just came out of my oven and we'll talk about it! Our location is exactly at 26' 30.896'N, 111'26.995" W. Punta Pulpito which is a 475 foot high headland that appears to be an island at first glance but closer to, the low flat land connecting with the point can be seen. A giant vein of black obsidian glass on the point's southern shore exposes the area's volcanic history.

Sunday Morning and We Are Weighing Anchor

Image
After nine days in this area waiting for weather we are deciding to head south towards La Paz.  We have a month to do that in so will stop and enjoy a few dew coves and some that we love-again.  The weather has been warm but the wind has been going the wrong way.............so today we are blessed and we are on our way. Hopefully we will be able to upload the pictures I have been taking  of late.................so that you can keep up.  This one to the right is an example of a homemade anchor that the local "Panga" owners use for their little boats.  Pretty ingenious dont you think???      We have been enjoying lots of  hiking, bird watching, fishing and lots of reading and talking with the locals.  Gotta love it! As of late Internet is intermittent so we will catch up with you all as soon as we can.  Probably within the next week...........dont panic okay!  We are fine. Love you all and remember to take one day...
