Shopping in Los Muertos

Yes, time to scout out some provisions, which is not always easy.  Spent the last couple of days looking for options on how we were going to trek over 9 miles to the closest grocery store.  I say store loosely, as these establishments are not grand in size, the service is done by yourself and the inventory usually very minimal.

Such was the case today but we got basically what we needed: eggs, milk, some vegies and beer.

How we got there was rather interesting of course.  The young man in the restaurant attempted to be helpful but really he much preferred that we eat there right?  So, he didn't really say no, but he was not very clear as to how we were going to get a ride.  We could have talked to a few gringos that come and go from the near by rv park but they were  engrossed in their beers and meals so we watched and sure enough every morning a van would come by, drop off folks to rent the pangas (little boats) and away they would go fishing for three to four hours.  It happened that  the taxi van stayed and waited for them.  Ahhha  our opportunity to whisk him away to drive us to the mercado.

Plan in place we got up early and along with Meagan and Captain Jack from S/V Moonraker off to the beach we go.............woke up the cabbie who was named Alberto and away we went to the store.  Quickly, actually within two hours we were back with our provisions............and tonight we are sharing a pot luck supper--complete with Carrot Cake and Cream topping............gotta like it.

Now we dont have to rush on to La Paz............Lue

PS  a fellow sailor dropped off some fish for us too!!  Tuna and Mahi Mahi  --Got to say Thank You Bill!!!
