A Cloudy Day Today............
Talk of rain and when you look to the mountains it is evident............hopefully it will so we can wash the decks. Come on Claes get the bucket and the brush! Actually keeping the decks clean of salt is a constant chore. We do not tie up in harbours often so do not have the opportunity to do that often.
The windows especially become encrusted and it is quite a job to keep those beautiful big windows we have sparkling. I call it job security for me!! Really it is labour intensive cause when you try to wash the salt off it gets a film so requires lots of vinegar and water and lots of polishing.............but so nice to enjoy the view with our nice big windows.(Many sail boats do not have the comfort of large windows) For those of you who are shopping for a boat that would be something to consider.
Yesterday, Joey had friends come over to play: he so wanted to catch one of these little finches! They perched on our halyards and flew around and under the sail covers singing their beautiful little songs. The male of course is the bright and colorful one and he was strutting his stuff. I guess it is spring, hey? They finally went way up to the top of the mast and sat on the radar and Joey starred and starred contemplating how he was going to climb up there.
This morning we woke to their songs again-- they were back and he has been pretty frisky.(Good exercise for him.)
Captain is pretty excited this breakfast time..............we finally found sausages yesterday. You betcha - Farmer Johns pork link sausages. This is an item that we just dont get here.............so he is having his celebration breakie this am.............this birthday of his just keeps on blessing him with gifts. HAHHAH!
Well all we must sign off for now and get making our way towards the GAME. We still are not certain that it will be received here. Talk to you later with shouts of YEAH CANADA!
