THE OCEAN IS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE COLOR OF BLUE!

Not muddy looking at all.  The shallow parts magnify the color and as the eye moves out to the openness and waves beyond the color intensifies and the depth is represented with darker shades. Hopefully you can see what I mean with the pictures that I have been taking lately.  (I promise when we leave here I will upload them and you can compare--right now the fella that provides us with Internet has asked us not to work with pictures....so please be patient!)

Speaking of muddy though....
........here is a recipe from one of my sailing buddies:

Mud Bottom Cake

1 1/2 cups flour
3 Tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
5 Tablespoons of cooking oil
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup cold water
3/4 coconut                                   Mix flour, cocoa, soda, sugar and salt and put in 8" pan.
Blend oil, vinegar, vanilla, water,coconut-pour into dry ingredients.
                                                     Mix well.
Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour.

Enjoy...if you have icing great or cover with melted chocolate and serve with vanilla yogurt.   Hmmmmm!  Please note that this is a great idea for us .......as there are no eggs, butter or milk needed.

  1. Hi Lue and Claes. So good to hear what you all on White Shell are up to. I am curious about your internet. Do you have to formally ask the person with the unsecured wireless if it is OK for you to use? How have you been finding these people? I love you cake recipe. I never thought about adding coconut, but will do next time. Good sailing ...

  3. We have been very blessed with reception of unsecured wireless access since we purchased "The Wirie" (see link on side bar). When you arrive at an areas that you think may have internet -turn it on and it scans the area for available servers. Click click and you have internet. The other option is to procure or purchase the code for the secured account which would be in the case of a harbour.
I did purchase a Telcel modem while in La Paz which you can pay as you go with. We understand the coverage is excellent along the mainline while it is very limited on the Baja east coast.
I must admit that the past seven months of limited internet has assisted me in moderating my use of the internet -which is a good thing. There are some many other activities out here and I feel better for the balance of it all.

I do appreciate my computer but have learnt to live with out it...what a concept!

    Hope this answers your question.
