SAILING SOMETIMES ASKS HEART BREAKING ACTIONS

JOEY, JOEY what an incredible little buddy you have been for the last five years.  Remembering the day I found you and your brother  I will always be thankful for the many hours of entertainment, companionship and feline love that you have shared with Claes and I.

The time has come for our second trip south with The White Shell II.......you know your 37 foot ketch that you helped crew last year?  Yeah, we are going back for the second part of our adventure which we hope will take us down to Costa Rica.  It should be pretty exciting except...........
You my little buddy cant come along this time.  It is the Captains and I's opinion that it will be too dangerous for you what with wild Mexican dogs, alligators, snakes and big spiders.....we think that we would be putting you in jeopardy if we brought you along.  This is breaking our hearts!
Little buddy we will miss you something terrible. We would be very selfish to bring you along so ...
we are presently looking for a foster home for you.........yeah you have cultivated many friends here at Kye Bay and many many folks do love you.  So our prayer is that someone will consider taking you in till we get back in early spring. (Details can certainly be worked out.)

 You are very healthy with all your shots up to date, and would come with a bag full of crunchies and a box of your favourite  "Tuna for Cats" as well as some of your favourite bite size treats.  You are so handsome and very clean.  You, Joey are a very smart boy cat...........you are well trained and do not need a litter box if you have the outdoors to explore.  It would be perfect if you had some bush to wander in and folks that would be good keepers of you...............you even come when we whistle. Go figure!  It's true.  You come for walks with us and follow quiet nicely.............you are amazing.  You do sleep at the end of the bed and on the couch especially if there is a soft blanket set out for you.  You do not scratch the furniture or spray -- you are a good boy and very well mannered.  Actually you are a very charming fella and love people.  You are okay with kids but prefer the bigger ones to the wee ones.................you do adapt well and are the best Pussy Cat we have had yet!!!!

As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

MEMORIES……….are made of this!

  I woke up today with a touch of a sore throat; not sick enough to make a request for light duty but uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to do much. I forced myself out of the bunk. You know how it is-- if you sleep during the day --night comes sleepless! Not wanting to waste the day sniffing and drinking tea .. i do prefer coffee……I attempted to keep myself busy with my chores. My interest quickly waned and I found myself at my desk……I began sorting through the small cupboard that acts as our filing cabinet. Yes, reminding me of the past  boat rule: all items must have two purposes which now  applies to our land home……here in the Comox Valley.   As I thought  of past years piled high within these  files of book work and accounts for our lives i managed a smile and reached  into the back section of the  cabinet.     I knew there was one file that held no numbers;  this plain ivory colored manila folder secured wi...
