MY FAVOURITE TIME OF YEAR............AUTUMN

Or as some call it fall. 
We are busy making our selves comfortable in #1 - The Captains Suite here at Kye Bay.  Thanks to our boss Roz we get to finish our time in Canada in this lovely spot.  Check out our favourite link page to connect to the Resort website at  www.kyebay.com

This also means I am finished my part here at the resort of being "The Summer" Manager and have nothing but great thoughts and wishes to and for Jane Saunders who is taking over for the winter.  Her man Fred will be arriving sometimes in October as well.  Claes still has four more shifts to do at his logging truck driving job.  He ordered his fancy SSB radio yesterday.  Now he is beginning to get anxious to leave and return to his beloved   White Shell II.  Check out The Captains Page and if you have any questions post a comment and it will get read!!!!  and answered!!

Preparations for the sailors is beginning to pick up speed.  We have over 30 dvds this season.............as they are great to trade with fellow sailors.  If any of you have any that you wish to give or lend please let us know.  We would greatly appreciate it-them.  The search is on for the perfect luggage set too!!  Being as we are walking on to the ferry to get us to Seattle we need comfort and ease.  Anyone know the name of the ferry we take from Victoria to Seattle???

It has been a while since I wrote as I was busy packing, moving and working.   I hope to post more regularily  providing you with some exciting articles.   The new additions of the pages will soon be completed as well with some pictures of our celebration in Powell River next week.............yes, a family gathering at Crista and Dougs' and The Boys for Thanksgiving turkey!!! cant wait!! As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. LOL   The thrill really is in the hunt right ladies?  and for us grandmas  it is an exercise of love for the "kidz"".  As this Abula searches for just the right color or item I think of the child I am shopping for:  the joy of remembering the voice, the smile and the bright eyes ........ahhhh so sweet!   There are a few authentic crafts here in Panama such as  the Embera Baskets made in the Indian Community  the Emberá basket is a one-of-kind piece and is the result of many hours of labor as well as an expression of the artist's own individu...

SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

MEMORIES……….are made of this!

  I woke up today with a touch of a sore throat; not sick enough to make a request for light duty but uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to do much. I forced myself out of the bunk. You know how it is-- if you sleep during the day --night comes sleepless! Not wanting to waste the day sniffing and drinking tea .. i do prefer coffee……I attempted to keep myself busy with my chores. My interest quickly waned and I found myself at my desk……I began sorting through the small cupboard that acts as our filing cabinet. Yes, reminding me of the past  boat rule: all items must have two purposes which now  applies to our land home……here in the Comox Valley.   As I thought  of past years piled high within these  files of book work and accounts for our lives i managed a smile and reached  into the back section of the  cabinet.     I knew there was one file that held no numbers;  this plain ivory colored manila folder secured wi...
