SWEDISH PANCAKES - THE CAPTAINS SPECIALTY
Woke up this Christmas morning to the smell of rich cafe de Mexico which we found along the Malacone the other day. Power is precious but we afforded a small amount to run the bean grinder. It has bean a long search but well worth it.
Fog this morning too. Yes, it is strange to have this essence of the British Columbia coast right here in the harbour but it is what it is. Now nearly 10 oclock and the sun is shining through and lifting it up and away.

The Captain is making one of his many specialties-- Swedish pancakes for us to go along with the abundance of ham that we have left over from last night. This is all part of our Christmas traditions brought over by Claes' dear mother, Marianne from Sweden. Some things change but totally never leave you and Christmas is one of them. We both admit that this is the most difficult part of being away from our homeland-- family and tradition but as the last few months show everyone goes on with their lives yet treasuring the memories that have grown over the years..............as we continue to make new memories which turn into traditions we wish you all a Merry Christmas! Our dream now is to someday have all of you join us for a Christmas time...............maybe somewhere far away............none the less the distance will not matter nor will the setting.............the treasure of being together is what will be the gift!
On that note we do from the bottom of our hearts which you a fantastically full day of friends, good conversation, fine food and memories! We are off to spend the rest of the day with our Canadian friends Donna and Brent from Comox.............over by Panga boat to turkey supper.
Talk to you later. HOHOHO from Santa "Claes and Mrs. Claes
