GRANDPARENTS DELIGHT

Nearly a month of being home and we are rather comfortable. Everyone is saying it has been a very cold winter and we are sensing for our self minus temperatures with lots of snow in the mountains. It has been such a treat to have the "Snow Birds", the atrial troop soaring over the Bay as they grace  us twice daily practicing for the season.   Our winter guestsThe Easter weekend was blessed with lots of sunshine and warm enough to spend sometime out on the front step.  Claes and I traveled over to Powell River to enjoy the weekend with our adult kids and their children. 
Crista and Doug again the incredible hosts showered us with a fantastic sea food supper on Saturday and an evening of playing "Master Trivial Pursuit".  The older grandsons were all home--all who we so enjoyed.  They are all growing up into such nice young men.  Brody is graduating this June.  Way to go Big Guy.  Bradon who has been playing baseball in Tueson at a baseball camp is solid and such a treat to be with.  Enjoyed your sense of humor Bradon.... Thanks.  And Mathew, you were so good with young Cole.  Thanks for that too.  Jacob, you and I  and your mom had a great time doing lunch................and touring the nursery for plants..........you too are such a delight to be with.

Disappointed for sure: Annika was very sick for the last few days and was not able to come over  for the Easter Egg hunt.   Tanya and Greg took turns nursing.  Cole came over and enjoyed some great times with his cousins...............he and Angus had a great time................and after supper we celebrated Angus 4th birthday.  What a party!!  Little sister Stella is just so beautiful!!!!!  Can't wait to see the new baby in June Ryan and Sophie!!!!  They just keep getting more and more precious.  Oh! Dear Lord how can that be???
It was great to see everyone.  Popped in to see Brother Rob and Corey and then  back to Key Bay to begin a new week filled with a few little projects and getting reconnected with our Friends.  Until later a very pleased and content set of Grand Parents wish you all the promise of Easter!!!

As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. LOL   The thrill really is in the hunt right ladies?  and for us grandmas  it is an exercise of love for the "kidz"".  As this Abula searches for just the right color or item I think of the child I am shopping for:  the joy of remembering the voice, the smile and the bright eyes ........ahhhh so sweet!   There are a few authentic crafts here in Panama such as  the Embera Baskets made in the Indian Community  the Emberá basket is a one-of-kind piece and is the result of many hours of labor as well as an expression of the artist's own individu...

SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

MEMORIES……….are made of this!

  I woke up today with a touch of a sore throat; not sick enough to make a request for light duty but uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to do much. I forced myself out of the bunk. You know how it is-- if you sleep during the day --night comes sleepless! Not wanting to waste the day sniffing and drinking tea .. i do prefer coffee……I attempted to keep myself busy with my chores. My interest quickly waned and I found myself at my desk……I began sorting through the small cupboard that acts as our filing cabinet. Yes, reminding me of the past  boat rule: all items must have two purposes which now  applies to our land home……here in the Comox Valley.   As I thought  of past years piled high within these  files of book work and accounts for our lives i managed a smile and reached  into the back section of the  cabinet.     I knew there was one file that held no numbers;  this plain ivory colored manila folder secured wi...
