LIFE AS A SAILOR -ON LAND???

Wow the summer has gone by so quickly!   Here we are at Kye Bay Resort and beginning our last week.  Captain is back to his logging truck and Joey and I are manning the home front.
There have been many many treasured memories
with our Kye Bay Families, some documented with photos but for the most part held close to our hearts.  THANK YOU THANK YOU  for sharing your vacation time with us.  You are very special and treat us so well.  The many suppers shared, laughs and jokes and a few foibles!!!!  Opps!   It has all been so good for the soul.  Now you are all back to your homes and routines counting the days till you return to your beloved Kye Bay Resort.  What a sweet thing.  Take care and know that you are all invited to join us on our blog..............until we meet again next summer.

What a blessing this place is to us.  A couple of times we were able to have Cole and Annika and their mom Tanya join us for Wednesday pot luck with Cole staying for a sleep over.  Pretty special when everyone is going every which way with so many plans and so few weeks left.   THANK YOU  for the opportunity.

 I must admit last week was the culmination of many long days and nights and I was a tad tired.  Poor Captain got the brunt end of my fatigue --thank you for your support Claes.  You know me so well................just let me vent and rest and recoup and I am ready for the next season.................fall!  Oh, I so love the autumn.  You know you can already smell it in the air.


Had a nice long chat with some of my own children lately..............some by telephone and some by email...................planing on make some road trips soon so get the guest room ready...........grandmas com'en to visit.  My needs are few...............I know that time is precious so I hope and look forward to some of yours in the next few weeks.   My official time as the Kye Bay Hostess  is finished here at the bay at the end of September but we will be in Canada until November 1st and look forward to visiting you sometime then.

Have been studying my Spanish lessons and fine tuning music, photos and movies.  If any of you have any movies you want to pass on let me know..............so, then...............off to the class room for a few hours.  Take care and hope to see you soon.   Lue

As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

MEMORIES……….are made of this!

  I woke up today with a touch of a sore throat; not sick enough to make a request for light duty but uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to do much. I forced myself out of the bunk. You know how it is-- if you sleep during the day --night comes sleepless! Not wanting to waste the day sniffing and drinking tea .. i do prefer coffee……I attempted to keep myself busy with my chores. My interest quickly waned and I found myself at my desk……I began sorting through the small cupboard that acts as our filing cabinet. Yes, reminding me of the past  boat rule: all items must have two purposes which now  applies to our land home……here in the Comox Valley.   As I thought  of past years piled high within these  files of book work and accounts for our lives i managed a smile and reached  into the back section of the  cabinet.     I knew there was one file that held no numbers;  this plain ivory colored manila folder secured wi...
