SAILORS SORTING AND SORTA SMILING

September 30, 2011

The Captain has returned to his land ship- that huge big logging truck he drives all in his selfless effort to top up the sailing account.    Thank You Claes!!!! Speaking of katz, Joey is curious of why I am pulling out those suitcases again.  It seems easier for us this year to know we have to leave him behind again.  Jane, his Kye Bay auntie has offered to look over him and make him comfortable in the laundry room.   I have begun to sort and pack in preparation for our next season aboard The beautiful        White Shell.  Our contacts down in Bahia del Sole say she is still afloat and doing just fine!!
The most  resent threatening tropical storm has produced some 60-90 ktn winds but all is well. Thank You God for that!!! The locals tell us that this summer has been calmer then most and they have not had much rain.  Getting back down south is beginning to sound like a good idea as our fall is already chilly here.  Got the woolies on and even wore gloves today.

Our wish list that we made aboard the boat is now filled and ready to pack as well.  It is not as heavy or intense as last year but none the less will likely fill  one entire case. The  four Bora fans, that were purchased because of their minimal  use of  power  yet have  the ability to  move an incredible amount of air can be given the award of being the most desirable piece of new equipment to board the vessel. ( In my opinion anyways).  It will be such a physical relief to have some air movement  especially at night.  It does get very humid and still.  Claes managed to find all the seals, pumps and LED lights he wanted.  He intends on replacing the galley dome lights with LED: again less power requirement and with the "warmer" color of light very comfortable on the eyes as well as that color produces more candle power.  I did mention pumps right?  Yeh, our darn water maker is hard on them as well as an entire new hand pump for the bow head..... cant get just a repair kit any more --gotta buy the entire mechanism.  Go figure?  No wonder that big pile of recycled parts we think are recycled is getting bigger and bigger.  But then that is another subject.  Pardon me I digress.

You and I  know it has been a while since I wrote on this dear BLOG of mine so have much to report.  I am experiencing   a problem with my screen on my laptop so straining my eyes so should say good afternoon for now.  Big decisions replace  a screen or just get a new laptop????  Until later...........I will say  have a great weekend and stay smiling.
