COSTA RICA IS STILL AS BEAUTIFUL AS WE REMEMBERED

Nearly a month since we arrived and as mentioned we have toured again........extensively.  Our hearts are warmed by the friends that we are making and the many options that we have but down deep we still have the spirit of adventure that is not completely sated.  You know that we are folks that truly believe that everything happens for a reason:  early this morning after being away from the computer I quietly turned it on tyring not to wake up the Captain or the rest of the house.  Immediately the Skype tones were ringing and there was S/V Sea Turtle, our friends Jordon and Judy who we last heard were in Easter Island.
Well they are in Chili  returning to Ecuador to travel on to the Marquesas and beyond. 
They  have enjoyed Panama, Peru, Columbia, Ecuador, and now Chili and have assured us that all is well and very worth while checking out so.....................we await Geralds return from New York/ Miami to visit with him and reconnect.  Our Tica bus tickets are changeable and we will likely stay another week but both feel that we must continue with our adventure...........it is too early to put down roots..........our adventura opens up to the second part: Panama and South America...........The Lord willing of course.  More details to follow as we have to consider if we will strike out this season or if winds, currents demand we begin the next leg next season, returning to Canada for our summer love: Kye Bay and our families  Please check out the other pages of the blog as I continually update and add pictures for you all to enjoy.......Have a great Saturday.  Luisa y Claes

As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. LOL   The thrill really is in the hunt right ladies?  and for us grandmas  it is an exercise of love for the "kidz"".  As this Abula searches for just the right color or item I think of the child I am shopping for:  the joy of remembering the voice, the smile and the bright eyes ........ahhhh so sweet!   There are a few authentic crafts here in Panama such as  the Embera Baskets made in the Indian Community  the Emberá basket is a one-of-kind piece and is the result of many hours of labor as well as an expression of the artist's own individu...

SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

MEMORIES……….are made of this!

  I woke up today with a touch of a sore throat; not sick enough to make a request for light duty but uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to do much. I forced myself out of the bunk. You know how it is-- if you sleep during the day --night comes sleepless! Not wanting to waste the day sniffing and drinking tea .. i do prefer coffee……I attempted to keep myself busy with my chores. My interest quickly waned and I found myself at my desk……I began sorting through the small cupboard that acts as our filing cabinet. Yes, reminding me of the past  boat rule: all items must have two purposes which now  applies to our land home……here in the Comox Valley.   As I thought  of past years piled high within these  files of book work and accounts for our lives i managed a smile and reached  into the back section of the  cabinet.     I knew there was one file that held no numbers;  this plain ivory colored manila folder secured wi...
