A FEW DAYS AT THE BEACH IN PUNTERANES

It was an honor to be invited to stay at Nidea and Daniellos lovely large home on the main playa. It  was exceptional.  He is the primo, cousin of Xinias and an incredible couple they make.  We drove to the beach with him and were captivated by his story.......of living in Mississippi for over 20 years and returning to Costa Rica in 2005.  His is very busy with  a Finca in Monteverdi which includes champion horses a large coffee plantation and many other projects throughout the country.  Nidea hosts a B&B, the one we stayed at when we were there in December.  Together they have the beach house and two adult sons.

The weather was very warm, actually hot but the nice ocean breeze made it perfect.  Both Claes and I so enjoyed the smell and feel and taste and vision of the ocean and realized that we have missed it so.  Of course our hosts were incredible and we had a super super time.  Gracias!!!  We tasted and consume mas amounts of Cervechie............the best to be found in the entire country.  We have left explicit instructions and directions for them so  hopefully they will return the favor and come visit us.............at  Kye Bay.

We continue to gather more information and have discovered that there is a good possibility that The Costa Rican Yacht Club will be a good place to moore our White Shell when we return next January. Everyone here has been incredible and have spent many hours on the phone helping us providing many options. Now we will process it all and spend the rest of the season and year making a decision that works for us and the boat.

We have now returned to Atenas--last night-- and are regrouping today to head back to Turriabla.   Got up early this morning so that I could visit with Gerald as he leaves for work around 6ish.  After a scrumptious tipical CR breakfast we head to the outdoor market.   Reminded me of ours in the Comox Valley with all the farmers showing off and offering their produce.

While away we will stay at the apartamento with  Xinia and Heraldo at the "Stone House.  She has a prima, a cousin who is getting married this weekend.  Gerald will meet us there tomorow and we will hang out for a few days. Then back to Atenas for a celebration for Xinias 60th Birthday.  We are scheduled to leave for El Salvador on Thursday.............we are ready and are looking forward to sleeping in our own bed..  It has been a fantastic month and a bit and we certainly have toured and reclaimed our love for the country.

We are hoping to do some  more touring of El Salvador, so if anyone wants to joins us come on down.  We will keep you posted.  Here is hoping that you continue to check the photo gallery on the right side of the page  and of course the other page obtions for different topics.   I will leave you with this thought today:

Life is far more a matter of perspective than ouricircumstance ... what you look for you will find!" - Christine Caine
