Good morning and happy November.  Still raining out my front door here in #2 Cottage at Kye Bay Resort.........the most beautiful spot on the east coast of Vancouver Island.  www.kyebay.com



  • The Captain is counting the "get ups" left in Boston Bar. 
  •  Joey is checking out the available couches as he prepares to serf for the winter. Lovely Jane and Faithful Fred are his Kye Bay Winter family but you that know Joey gotta know he makes the rounds.  More on that as the season progresses.
  •  and I am working through  my list of things to get, buy, fix and pack in between the side affects of those darn Typhoid pills we are taking.  Tomorrow is the last day of the procedure. (four pills with a skipped day in between the taking.)  Usually get a shot but they did NOT have any so we went for the oral meds. http://www.viha.ca/contact_us/    Here is the link for those of you who need more info for your travelling plans this winter.    The nurses are fantastic.

 In the long run a better deal cause they last four instead of two years. (Cost for each of us $110.00) You pay me now you pay me later. Right?  Needless to say if I would have know I would of done this while in lovely Boston Bar as I am missing a few dinner parties............darn.

Today I begin serious packing.............pretty exciting hey?  I will let you know how it goes as the pile is growing:  toilet parts, water filters for the island people etc.

Please check this site out for details on how you can donate and provide water for the Island People in the estuary http://elsalvadorrally.blogspot.ca/  We have told you how we watch the people, usually the women, mostly older paddling back and forth from their island across to the mainland, which crosses are bow.........each day with their supply of water. (the dug out canoes are pretty amazing in that swift running estuary.) This project allows them to have potable water right in their casas.  How great is that......something we all take for granted.  Anyways we are bringing replacement filters this year  as we think of giving.  Join us if you wish!!


This year I am bring plastic vacuum packs for clothes  for next spring when leaving the boat......continually trying to keep things dry and protected..  Then of course our  books, shampoo for our silver hair that I cant usually find "out there"........a new saw to work on the fridge..................of course guys The Captain will tell you all about those on his page later this week.

So, then I will leave you for today and get  back to my morning ritual of stretching and meditating on THE WORD...........what an incredible way to start this fine Thursday along with a good cup of coffee.  Have a good one and stay away from the left over Hollows Eve treats.  (Bet you cant!!!)    Sailor in waiting.  Lue

As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. LOL   The thrill really is in the hunt right ladies?  and for us grandmas  it is an exercise of love for the "kidz"".  As this Abula searches for just the right color or item I think of the child I am shopping for:  the joy of remembering the voice, the smile and the bright eyes ........ahhhh so sweet!   There are a few authentic crafts here in Panama such as  the Embera Baskets made in the Indian Community  the Emberá basket is a one-of-kind piece and is the result of many hours of labor as well as an expression of the artist's own individu...

SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

PICTURES ---ONE IS WORTH A MILLION WORDS

Brother Rob and Sister Irene have reported difficulties in viewing the recent pictures of our adventure.  Just checked out to see if all is well and this is what I found: On the right hand side of the blog page you will see a list of pages that are offered on the blog for YOUR viewing pleasure.  As you click on each one of those pages you will find different topics.  Looking for photos you must go to the page entitled  OUR STORY IN FOCUS.  Click on that page and you should be redirected to our Photo Albums that are all saved on our GOOGLE ACCOUNT.  I have personally gone over each album and set it as being a PUBLIC view so you should be able to view the most recent pictures.  They are saved chronologically.  You will see the album cover picture and when you click on it you will be given options to view it as a slide show.  PLEASE TRY IT OUT AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND. I have constant Internet right now...........a little modem by Digic...
