SAILORS ARE SPENDING TIME

After a full week of preparations and planning the lull of time between Christmas celebrations and New Years welcome parties, we are enjoying some quiet time.  The White Shell is safe and sound at Puntaranas and we are being lazy in Athenas.  The newspapers reported yesterday that Puntaranas was the second warmest spot in the country, second only to Liberia.  Our time here in this very temperate location is not only timely but comfortable. 

I am challenged by a huge novel, the journals of Cleopatra and enjoying the excellent writings of this North American author.   Her descriptions and excellent research results in a very well worth read...........over 900 pages so I will be occupied.  LOL

Fasting today after so much good Central American fare.

The Captain is managing to collect the different items he has need of:  ie  fuel filters, new fuel line and a responsible fella to clean out the tanks on Monday next.

Spending lots of quality time with Gerald and his lady, Gloiriana and our friends here.  Not sure what we are doing for New Years but we are looking forward to returning to the comfort and feeling of home in the White Shell.

We will keep telling you our story and adding pictures as we collect them.  The next few weeks will go quickly with the big event of The Matrimonial Celebration of Daniel and Hazel on the 12th.........then God willing we will  re provision and set sail for PANAMA!!!!

As we travel Panama   as in other  countries there are many many tourist spots  with "things"to buy and bring home  to you all.   Ahh! the decision are many  and can get rather difficult.   Sometimes the memorabilia is best bought with the person making the memory--if you know what I mean.  We do love to shop at least some of us. LOL   The thrill really is in the hunt right ladies?  and for us grandmas  it is an exercise of love for the "kidz"".  As this Abula searches for just the right color or item I think of the child I am shopping for:  the joy of remembering the voice, the smile and the bright eyes ........ahhhh so sweet!   There are a few authentic crafts here in Panama such as  the Embera Baskets made in the Indian Community  the Emberá basket is a one-of-kind piece and is the result of many hours of labor as well as an expression of the artist's own individu...

SAILORS SEEKING SECOND SIGHT OF PERLAS ISLAS

The last few months have certainly been filled with many enjoyable days and peaceful nights We arrived in Panama City in awe of the sight of such a huge skyline of massive buildings which is certainly impressive night or day.  Upon closer inspection it is just another huge city filled with business, malls and people....lots of people.  Some not so fortunate as the large areas of low income buildings is large and not safe to travel in.    Our time with Canadian friends, Roz and Dave was fantastic.   We were pleased that they enjoyed themselves so much and fell into "Sailing life"very well.  The White Shell lent herself to two more bodies on board and all was well. From what the pictures tell you we had a great time sailing to The Perlas Islands, exploring, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing.  David did amazing things with the guitar and the fishing rod. LOL  It took us a few days to regroup after their departure...

PICTURES ---ONE IS WORTH A MILLION WORDS

Brother Rob and Sister Irene have reported difficulties in viewing the recent pictures of our adventure.  Just checked out to see if all is well and this is what I found: On the right hand side of the blog page you will see a list of pages that are offered on the blog for YOUR viewing pleasure.  As you click on each one of those pages you will find different topics.  Looking for photos you must go to the page entitled  OUR STORY IN FOCUS.  Click on that page and you should be redirected to our Photo Albums that are all saved on our GOOGLE ACCOUNT.  I have personally gone over each album and set it as being a PUBLIC view so you should be able to view the most recent pictures.  They are saved chronologically.  You will see the album cover picture and when you click on it you will be given options to view it as a slide show.  PLEASE TRY IT OUT AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND. I have constant Internet right now...........a little modem by Digic...
