SPENT SAILORS APPROACH THE Bahia San Juan Del Sur Nicaragua
December 4th, 2012 6:00 am we enter a natural bay which opens to the southwest. This is our second stop in Nicaragua having entered at Port Corinto on Sunday morning. We sailed right past Golfo De Fonseca, the wind was fine and the weather window that was predicted continued to remain open so we just carried on to Port Corinto which we found to be very friendly and accommodating with their official formalities. With Zarpie (the document that is required to enter and leave each country) in hand the Port Authority rep escorted us around the small town to acquire photo copies and access to the internet. Checking our weather was foremost in our minds as we want to leave the following morning, Monday. Being Sunday most places were closed.........so off we went with William. Jumped on a Bicicletta Taxi to the bookstore for the copies and a personal friends for the internet! We offered him lunch and he took us to an Oriental Restaurant...probably the most expensive In town! HAHAHHA! Oh, well it was all worth it the whole $30.00 including the taxi. The food was good and the lady of the establishment was very particular about serving us and had her three daughters waiting on us. Felt pretty special
Tomorrow we will check out the little funky town here that seems to a mix of fisherman, rich summer vacation homes and the odd Cruise Ship stop over.
Check out the rest of the pages now for more stories and details of the trip so far.
