PANAMA ISLA PARTIDA
Fantastic day sails from isla to isla which started at the northern tip anchoring at Playa del Socorro then around the eastern side of it to spend the day and night at Ensenada Varadero. As you can see from the pictures there are many many islands, with alot of rocks so navigation is precise and very challenging. The Captain does amazing things out here and contiues to find us spectacular places to visit. It is very fine indeed as we sail/motor leaving early in the morning and arriving early in the afternoon so we can enjoy the area before dark. Perfect plan includes a swim and an early supper- tonight of fresh tuna! HMMMMMM
Yesterday, while having our morning coffee and contemplating our hope for walk about we could hear music. And of course that purked us up. ( the anchorage the day before though very beautiful was a privatly owned spot so we could not go for our so wanted and needed walk.) It does take us a little time to prepare as we need to unload the dinghy but having that done off we went towards the beach. It was not long after our landing that two young girls came walking down the beach hailing us HELLO!!!! As we tied the boat I looked up and two smiling faces and exended hands greeted us and asked if we want to come up to the farm...........so of course off we went. As we walked up the hill escourted by two or three dogs and the girls making our introductions, the older girl , Sari asked if we were Christiannas? as they were.
Once we reached the top we could see everyone gathered around an outdoor table, hammoucks and chairs...........awaiting us. Richard Valention and his wife have lived here for over 24 years, and they and their daughter and son make this there home on over 30 hectres of beautiful island vista property. Complete with bananas, mangoes, beans and many other vegies, pigs and chickens and the baquet from the sea they are a very very content familia! This week they had company as their sister and brother were here with their family...............propably over 20 people. We visited for a while each using our Spaninglish and communicated and talked about each others lives. It was great as we all worked at making each other understood. I had brought candy so the young people were happy. The two girls toured us around and suggested we all go swimming. We need to return to the boat for our suits so they asked if they could come see the boat............the two of them with us and the rest of the crew followed in their very large panga.
I served Ganabanna and ritz crackers............they loved it.........I scrambled to find enough cups to serve everyone but all went well. The girls so enjoyed our photo albums and the guys checked out the nav station with Claes............It was great to see how they loved the boat and smiled and laughed and continue saying muy bueno! Very nice! The ladies loved my galley. LOL Showing them our travels on the world map that we have hanging on the galley wall they ohh and ahhed as to how far we had come.
Our time at the beach was fantastic.....lots of surf so it was great fun but boy were we tired by bedtime.
We left the bay by 9am very greatful for having met such a lovely family!! Our hearts were filled with memories and our faces still smiling. Folks with so little but oh so happy to share.
Tonight we have free internet out in the middle of another group of islands..........some fancy "tent"resort on the beach. Thank You who ever you are.
Away in the morning to head towards the mainland and find a nice place to hang out as the weather report says we need to look for a nice 48 hour window to go around the Punta Mala and up into the Gulf of Panama and into the city.........might take a week or so as the weather is not good in that spot. We will keep you posted.
