Ronald a tribute to you! Today my mind and heart are filled with happy memories of the past fifty years remembering the excitement of the first born BEDARD grandson. I being only nine years older made you a friend not just a nephew. You were a big brother, a fast hockey player, a enthusiastic drummer always eager to entertain as well as dazzle with your fancy dancing foot work. Always a hard worker you were never idle and excelled as a university graduate that became an incredible teacher and mentor. A month or so ago when sailing into Monterey Bay one of the first sights that came into view was this massive "fairground" area, which we later were told was the Santa Cruz Boardwalk".  Later it seemed that every time we went for a ride in that area we mentioned that it would be great fun to walk along the ocean and enjoy the fun of it.............well finally a week ago did. ( I was not feeling very chipper as I was in the middle of battling a cold but went along to please "my man"!) This being the winter season the Boardwalk is only open for the weekend subsequently it was pretty busy.  Folks from all nationalities and areas were eating corn dogs, garlic fries, having a beer and just plain having a great time with their families.  You can check the photo gallery for some pictures that I took and the link to see more details and history.  For Claes and I it brought back a lot of memories of taking our children to the PNE in  Vancouver and then finally our ad...

The folks here are thankful for the rain to help control the fires but now are concerned with mud slides!!!! We are working inside today and enjoy some nice home made chicken soup.  The forecast is for rain till Thursday after which time we hope to be having a test run on the motor.  Claes is nearly done installing the water maker and I finished waxing and buffing the port side of the hull yesterday.  The WhiteShell is pretty shiny!  I think it will likely go faster too..........don't you?  (when we finally get her back in the water) So much for the weather report.......let me catch you up on our Thanksgiving weekend.  It was pretty lonely as we were so wishing we were able to hold that brand new grand daughter of ours.  Stella Rose is said to very beautiful and happy.  (Her mom says she resembles her grandma Lue and daddy Ryan of course).  As soon as someone blesses us with pictures I will send them off to you.  Needless to say we ha...

 Ryan just phoned Crista this am  They delivered  a baby girl this morning at 5:15, all was smooth and baby is healthy.  Ryan said "pudgy" at 7.6lbs, nothing definite on the name but are leaning towards "Stella". Sophie thinks she'll be discharged by tonight and possibly home by tomorrow, so we might just have a new baby at Thanks giving dinner.  Hopefully we can Skype and have pictures out by the end of the weekend.   Thank You God for a brand new grand daughter!!!!

Yes, just look at the new photos in the gallery on the left and you will see he was smiling!  We ended yesterday with the motor being bolted down in the engine room.  Needless to say we shared a nice bottle of wine with supper and were excited that the job is in "progress".  Today the exhaust system is being modified a little and installed. (The bedroom is torn apart as the system goes under our bed!)  Great way to dust and get your bedding aired!!!  HAHAHHA! We will sleep in the galley for the next few nights.  (An opportunity to check out the guest bedroom) This is certainly testing us!  All is good though.  We understand there is another storm coming down the coast of America so we are content to be safely tucked in harbour.  We were invited to the Yacht Club tonight for friday night supper.  Having met a few nice folks the other night it was  gratifying to visit and see familiar faces as  build new relationships.  Th...

Yes!  The guys are working on the boat since 8:45 am .  (Must have been the fresh bread I passed around yesterday.  HAHHAHA)     Decisions are being made about the muffler and exhaust systems,     Water senders and the list goes on.     All is good as Claes has been able to coincide the installation of the water maker as well.    We have heard the word PERFECT  a number of times already and it is only  10:45.   Thank You GOD!  Check out the photo gallery on the left side bar for more pics of the motor.
