MONTHS END: Eagles, flowers and time at the lake

Image
Wow it has been a couple of very full and busy weeks for us.  The weather has not necessarily been conducive to what we had planned for outside work but then we are not in control of that.  Actually, we continue to learn that we are not in control of much. (We all try to operate as if we are but truthfully we are not.) Coming back to our country has shown us many things:  the terrain is incredible and yes green but that is why it has to rain as it does!  The pace as we mentioned before is rather fast, even a small city such as what we live in Comox is very noticeably "busy".

A Month Since We Have Come Back to the Land!

Have to say that it did take most of that time to settle in.  The quick pace and cold air was difficult to "warm" up to as we certainly had begun to acclimatize to  the Cruiser life; enjoying the freedom and ease of simple day to day living had become very comfortable.  The comfort in knowing that our children/grandchildren and friends are near by is the most treasured reward for coming back to Canada.

OPPS!!!!!

MID MAY MORNING AT KYE BAY.............absolutely glorious!

Image
After a full week of work I woke to the familiar sound of the eagles chirping away in their roost, high at the top of the fir trees just behind the resort.  Their chatter is ominous as it warns the little critters of their presence.  With Joey safely tucked into the duvet cover I drifted  back a sleep.

A SAD DAY AT KYE BAY

Our old and dear friend Toby, a faithful canine companion of many years to Roz and all at Kye Bay passed away yesterday.   We will miss you old pal and know that your dedication and love for the beach will now  be magnified as you run and play in heaven.                              See you later!

Pretty intense tonight..........end of the second  with The Hawks winning 3-ZERO!   Oh no!!!!  We gotta really pull it together now.  Might add the penalties are non existent tonight -- that is good thing. T This picture is of Jacob and Bradon with the Stanley Cup in Powell River a few years ago. Gotta get back to the game................Hockey grandma!

MY MOM WAS THE BEST!!!!

Image
She did the best she could with what she had. Took me nearly forty years to figure that out...........but hey what is important  is that I finally got it. She did not have a manual  other than what her mother taught her and I am sure what her older sister insisted on telling her.  What was in her heart  she knew God had gifted her with and she leaned on  that daily.  Hers' was not an easy life, as she ventured off away from wealth and comfort to live her dream. The years that followed were filled with  animosity from her family yet she followed her heart and made a home for her, her husband and eventually eight children!  My dad  adored her and  they did work together as a team for over fifty years!!!!!! Ultimately she gave me my  life! She, through her life attempted to show me  how to be the best women,  mother and wife that God created me to be!   My mom was a women of few words but towards the end of her life...
