A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Image
The weekend was fabulous!!! My sweetheart made it home thursday night and we began the weekend early;  a  fine supper followed by an evening of cuddling and movie watching. Just being together and getting a few chores done on Friday and Saturday the time went by quickly.  The weather was fine and we savoured our coffee on the beach deck and took time for a  walk in the trail near by.  Mostly we just enjoyed the peace of the Bay and each other.  (for more of that see the next posting) Sunday  afternoon was spent at our good buddies Judy's at Somenoes.  It seems like just yesterday that we shared her home with her as we prepared to embark on our journey last June!!! She and  Jan put together a fantastic BBQ  complete with the best burgers on the west coast and all the condiments and some of our friends.  The birthday cake was presented by grandson Cole and Annika was my very able assistant in opening the gifts.  What more could...

ANNIKA GOES TO KYE BAY PARK

Image
Annika and I had a great afternoon enjoying the tour of our new "digs".  She of course spent some time sorting and organizing my shell treasures.  Take after grandma that is for sure when it comes to sorting and setting things out.  After a wee snake, reading a book and declining a nap we sauntered down to the park. As you can see from the pictures she had a fantastic time.  Not to mention how she blessed me by sharing some  time with me. THANKS HONEY!!!!!

'What has brought you life today?' by John Fischer   I have a friend who likes to experiment with new ways of beginning a conversation. He's kind of forced into this because he works with homeless teenagers in an inner city district where it's hard to start a conversation with "How are you?" when the unpleasant answer kind of screams in your face without anything being said. There are ways in which we say hello to people that indicate whether or not we intend on engaging them in conversation or just politely dismissing them.

Hey Joey......take a Look at this COOL Bird!!!!

CAPTAINS AWAY

and not on his boat but in his daughter borrowed "Rodeo".  Off to the north-east part of the island to drive truck.  Yes,  my man is on the road again.  10and 4 they call it.  His motivation is more boat dollars as our list of items for the next sailing season is lengthening. Joey and I already miss him but we know that the time will go quickly as we have a lot to keep us busy and out of trouble. We our thankful for the break in weather and the peace we continue to find here at Kye Bay Resort.  Our move back into the managers suite went and is going well.  The fact that we are familiar with it all helps us settle in. Thank you Roz for making it our second home! Until I hear from my truck driven man..............I will carry on like I know what I am doing.  HAHAHH!  Lue

THANK YOU GOD THAT FRIDAY IS COMING!!!!!!

Whew!!!!!!!!!! What a week so far ehy?????  The Black Hawks, my team of choice these days is fighting for the NHL  STANLEY cup and  after their winning  game last night they are getting closer.  I so enjoyed that there were very few penalties.  What an enjoyable change.  You would have chuckled..............seeing me ironing yes ironing curtains for #8 with one eye on the TV and the other on the hot iron. It got pretty exciting a few times. Hey, it worked and got the job done. Speaking of which we are in the throws of it these days even if the weather is not very cooperative.  We are getting units prepped for summer and the place polished up and waiting for our summer "friends/ guests" to arrive. Anyone out there want a winter job?  Really when we leave late October til we get back late April?   Live here at Kye Bay and enjoy the incredible peace of the fall season, experience  the winter storms and come alive to spring????...

MONTHS END: Eagles, flowers and time at the lake

Wow it has been a couple of very full and busy weeks for us.  The weather has not necessarily been conducive to what we had planned for outside work but then we are not in control of that.  Actually, we continue to learn that we are not in control of much. (We all try to operate as if we are but truthfully we are not.) Coming back to our country has shown us many things:  the terrain is incredible and yes green but that is why it has to rain as it does!  The pace as we mentioned before is rather fast, even a small city such as what we live in Comox is very noticeably "busy".
