The Story of guy and gal!

Muy Bien!!!!!! the winners are Spain!!!!!!  Very good game, a very technical game and a joy to watch!!!! Now on to Sunday to play off between Spain and the Netherlands!  Oh My what a time that will be!!!!! Pastor Ron has promised a short version of his message on Sunday so we soccer fans can watch this match.  What a guy! Even though he prefers baseball.  Silly fella.  Lue

The week of children , as we have gotten to know it has begun.  They have all grown so much since I last saw them.  It has been a year.  I dropped in before we set sail last year to much excitement and such a warm reception!  This year I have them- You in the flesh!  Pretty exciting as you came family by family around that corner, eyes wide in anticipation of the sun, beach and Joey of course.  Our usually pancake breakfast Sunday morning  was a hit but with but one glitch --the famous Kye Bay Pancake Guy was amiss.  No worries, Murray from #7 stepped in gallantly and assisted me.  Though we missed Claes we did manage......I dont think the coffee was quite right but all went away "fed up"!

My my what a week we have had so far.  After  weeks of preparation the team pulled it off and we welcomed the two families that make up our first week of summer 2010.  Yes, two families one that has been coming to relax at Kye Bay for the past 15 years and the other a returning family--this time the kids are bringing their kids!  That is how it goes here at the little resort on Kye Bay. The weather has been rather variable but nothing too drastic to complain about.  Besides we are tough on the west coast.  Hahahhah!!  Our pancake breakfast on Sunday morning was a hit and the sun shone most of the day and has been getting warmer everyday.  (Today it was a little chilly though) Tuesday saw us have our first ever Pizza Bake Off and it was a very big success thanks to the dough made by our neighbour Anthony, the quests who partook and Roz who offered the prizes!   Never mind the tasty meal we all had. What a great time we had today!   Our sailing friends drove up from Lake Cowichan.........Captain Ian and His First Mate Diane from the sailing vessel Salish Seas came  to spend the afternoon with us.  They so graciously let us finish our chores and then we all enjoyed a fantastic supper of steak and prawns.  Roz was the honored guest and we topped off the evening with home made apple pie made by Diane.  check out the photo gallery for close up shots lf the full and content guests.  We are geared up for our summer season to begin tomorrow and anxiously await our  Kye Bay friends the Meyer family and some new folks............tell you all about it later. The weekend was fabulous!!! My sweetheart made it home thursday night and we began the weekend early;  a  fine supper followed by an evening of cuddling and movie watching. Just being together and getting a few chores done on Friday and Saturday the time went by quickly.  The weather was fine and we savoured our coffee on the beach deck and took time for a  walk in the trail near by.  Mostly we just enjoyed the peace of the Bay and each other.  (for more of that see the next posting) Sunday  afternoon was spent at our good buddies Judy's at Somenoes.  It seems like just yesterday that we shared her home with her as we prepared to embark on our journey last June!!! She and  Jan put together a fantastic BBQ  complete with the best burgers on the west coast and all the condiments and some of our friends.  The birthday cake was presented by grandson Cole and Annika was my very able assistant in opening the gifts.  What more could...
