Farewell Baja as we leave the Bay at Muertos on a beautiful Sunday morning, around 10:20 am, all cleaned and spit polished and ready to make our crossing.

SAILORS SOMETIME CHANGE THEIR PLANS

You betcha!  and that is exactly what happened today.   We both hustled into town in the dingy to get at our list of chores ie  refill the propane, get our fishing licences and park passes plus get more pesos--  cant live without any of those items.  We met up with Kim and Rob  from S/V Keetya I . I clocked my trek to el banco and it took me just shy of 40 minutes there and back.  What a great feeling too to have a work out bright and early.  Yesterday, we worked on a second dingy that we wanted to purchase............an older one to use as a back up.  We like to be secure in that area as it is our transportation when at land.......anyways it had to be pumped up manually so we had a great leg work out yesterday. Too bad we did not video this exercise as it was rather hallirous as we un mystified the layout of the boards that make up the hard bottom of the boat.  Not sure which was funnier  that  or us towing the new grey dingy ...

SAILING SOUTHWARD TOWARDS MUERTOS BAY

Last season this was one of our favorite spots..........we spent Christmas Eve there and meet our good buddy Anthony from S/V Mandalya .  Tomorrow morning after listening to the weather and topping up with diesel and pesos we will be push off to truly begin our Second Season.  (We have truly enjoyed La Paz but have our eyes on a new scenery.) The last few weeks have been productive as we have re assembled, newly assembled and provisioned.  Hey, we did laundry twice!!!!  The Captain pushed the test button yesterday and made contact on the SSB and with a huge grin spoke to a Don Anderson our weather guy all the way up to California.  So, look out here we come. Not sure how the internet will be the next few weeks so if you dont hear from us just know that we are on our way to Mazatlan and hope to be there by next week --as long as the weather is favorable. We shall talk soon...............and of course you need to turn on your Skype if you really want to talk...

FIRST MATE UPDATEs THE BLOG

Good morning and a beautiful one it is.   The mornings  dampness and  chill are short lived as around 6:30 am  the sun arises to dry the wheel house up.  Shortly there after with  coffee  perking we are feeling fine.

Happy December all!  Whew,  how times passes when you are busy,eh??  You know someone told us we did not have an accent the other day --how funny is that!!  Here there are many Canadians, Australians and boats flying African flags... and of course a few Americans.  So there are alot of accents amongst the many of us who are working away at our Spanish lessons. ( Seems like I am sleeping in Spanish these days!!!  HAHAH) Check the other tabs at the top of this page; a few updates on all of the choices and lots of new pictures.  I will leave you with those little tips and encourage you to become a follower of our exciting journey and if you are one or two already PLEASE check in with us once in awhile leaving a comment  so that we know you are out there.  Your presence, interest and prayers are very much appreciated and required.  Have not heard from KING Joey lately so we are thinking he is muey comfortable on the couch.  Stay war...

SAILORS SUNDAY OFF

Image
After a very fun and tasty supper at Banditos last evening with our friends Jacquie and Don from S/V Little Christian we made our way back to the boat via our little "truck" the dingy.  The storm has abated so we were gently lulled to sleep.  The last few nights had been very exciting as there has been somewhat of a wind blowing as well as an abandoned cement boat doing a walk about the channel.  Seems here that the Navy and or Port Authorities are not concerned with such matters so it is up to each boat owner to keep an eye out.  Needless to say we had a few restless nights keeping an eye on this monster. (It was quite nice to sit in the wheel house and watch the big fall moon but that eventually got a little tiring around eleven oclock...... Yesterday a young man took possession of it and he is not the proud owner.  Strange but a relief. Yesterday I ventured off to the Centro de La Paz by myself and figured out how to use the autobus.  Cost a whole 8 p...

Over 250 folks served yesterday for Turkey Day.  It was well done and well attended.  Pretty warm to be eating such a huge meal but we managed.  HAHAH.
