FIRST MATE TREATED TO SPA DAY

Image
Ahhh  life just does not get better than this:    pool time complete with a few hours of pampering.  Illaya, our ever so fine hostess at the Yacht Club continues to go over and beyond  the call of her duties.  After travelling to two nearby communities I could not find an appointment to get a little clean up for the wedding on the weekend.  Got some new sandals but the toes were looking pretty rough. LOL   Tanned feet look so  much better with a little paint on them....even The Captain agrees. Providing an air conditioned room, a very gifted estatician that came right to the club I am now displaying pretty toes and hands....................thank you thank you...........now I can get on with my packing.

SWEET SURRENDER FOR THE SAILORS

Image
Incredible day yesterday!    January 06-2013  the diesel decease was cured!!!!              The Captain came up smiling and I glowed with accomplishment as the decks shone after a couple of hours of scrubbing and cleaning.  THE REWARD  did not end there.......we felt so accomplished having a successful day with the end to our challenge of dirty diesel. We retired to the POOL!!! Claes will filter the remaining 20 gallons which he will  pour into the tank and hopefully the new filters will arrive as promised (they did!!) and all is well on board. (He still has to clean his engine room but that is a minor at this point.)  LOL We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool and then returned to the boat for a lovely fish supper.  It was one of those nice evenings with not too much humidly so both had a great sleep.  Thank You God for the end to the saga................

NEW YEARS EVE DAY

Image
Here we are the last day of the year 2012 to get those projects done .  Our list is short!  We have Migal on board helping us with our Diesel issue.  Looks like he and Claes will conquer the problem.  The picture is Claes opening his new grandpa mug he got this year --- he just loves it !  Check out our Photo Page linked to our Picasa Album for more shots. The day is covered with a lovely blue sky today,  small breeze which is refreshing.  We spent the evening on the malecon in Puntaranas last night  Walked and walked with all the other many folks.  The huge cruise ship that had  been in port left  leaving behind many local merchants with more Colones in their pockets to begin a new year.  We so enjoy being with the local people,  eating carne on  stick........and listening to their laughter, and family times........music on the corners and lots of lovers sitting on the edge of the shadows of the street lights.......

SAILORS ARE SPENDING TIME

Image
After a full week of preparations and planning the lull of time between Christmas celebrations and New Years welcome parties, we are enjoying some quiet time.  The White Shell is safe and sound at Puntaranas and we are being lazy in Athenas.  The newspapers reported yesterday that Puntaranas was the second warmest spot in the country, second only to Liberia.  Our time here in this very temperate location is not only timely but comfortable.  I am challenged by a huge novel, the journals of Cleopatra and enjoying the excellent writings of this North American author.   Her descriptions and excellent research results in a very well worth read...........over 900 pages so I will be occupied.  LOL Fasting today after so much good Central American fare. The Captain is managing to collect the different items he has need of:  ie  fuel filters, new fuel line and a responsible fella to clean out the tanks on Monday next. Spending lots of qualit...
