SAILORS SORTING AND SORTA SMILING

Image
September 30, 2011 The Captain has returned to his land ship - that huge big logging truck he drives all in his selfless effort to top up the sailing account.    Thank You Claes!!!! Speaking of katz, Joey is curious of why I am pulling out those suitcases again.  It seems easier for us this year to know we have to leave him behind again.  Jane, his Kye Bay auntie has offered to look over him and make him comfortable in the laundry room.   I have begun to sort and pack in preparation for our next season aboard The beautiful         White Shell .  Our contacts down in Bahia del Sole say she is still afloat and doing just fine!!

SAILORS SETTING UP TO SAIL AGAIN SOON

Image
I nteresting story for you today sent to me by my good sailing sister Kristin  from S/V  Nautilus  from the US of A.   The picture on the right is of Judy, Diane and I at her cabin at Lake Shawnagin this past week.  We have slowly all been connecting again after very full and busy summers of either work and or play with our kidz...that includes grands too.  (Oh, it was such a blessing to cuddle with Patsy and to get to know Stella a wee bit better and watch Angus catch fish in the little brook that runs through  their  new home at Port Melon. Then of course Brody graduated, Cole and Bradon and Jacob all had another birthday and all our adult kids are doing well and  enjoyed the summer as well.  We are so thankful for such a healthy happy family!!!

LIFE AS A SAILOR -ON LAND???

Wow the summer has gone by so quickly!   Here we are at Kye Bay Resort and beginning our last week.  Captain is back to his logging truck and Joey and I are manning the home front. There have been many many treasured memories

ALL IS WELL IN EL SALVADOR

Image
The Captain is pleased after receiving pictures and a nice lengthy email from Santos the El Salvadorian that is taking care of The White Shell while we are away.  Oh, the pictures are causing me to be lonely. The painting of the decks should be starting next week and the toe rail sanded and varnished.  Pretty Pretty! Been following a few blogs and our cruising friends are moving along nicely into Panama and Sea Turtle is going on to Ecuador soon. Summer is a busy time for everyone- attempting to put as much "fun" time in a day as possible.   Here at the Bay all is well as I am  half way through our summer and looking forward to some quite time soon.  Until Fire Season begins   Claes is doing two week shifts at Wakeman Sound driving off road logging trucks.  The boating fund is getting fatter every day.  Joey is doing an awesome job patrolling the grounds and is my little companion day and night.  The hop...

A LITTLE STOREY TO LIGHTEN THE DAY

Image
Two old girls, Rose and Barb had been friends all of their lives.   When it was clear that Rose was dying, Barb visited her every day.    One day Barb said, 'Rose, we both loved playing women's softball all our lives, please do me one favor: when you get to Heaven, somehow you must let me know if there's women's softball there.'       'Barb, you've been my best friend for many years. If it's at all possible, I'll do this favor for you.' replied Rose.    Shortly after that, Rose passed on.    A few nights later, Barb was awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and a voice calling out to her, 'Barb, Barb.'     'Who is it?', asked Barb, sitting up suddenly. 'Who is it?'      'Barb -- it's me, Rose.'      'You're not Rose. Rose just died.'    'I'm telling you, it's me, Rose,' insisted the voice.     'Rose! Where are you?' ...
